I'm an artist and type designer based in Berlin. My practice, driven by a passion for to all things visual communication, is an exploration of technology, craft and art.

I'm a co-founder and type designer at Beam Type, a studio for mostly experimental type design. I also work as a font enginner for Alphabet Type.

I have a broad range of skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, programming and the building of digital fonts, from early sketching to release. My current projects focus on variable fonts, colour fonts and procedurally drawn letters.

I'm not always as serious as I look in this picture (taken by Norman Posselt at p98a).
